The Honest AI Calorie Tracker
Lettuceburn is an AI calorie tracker: snap a photo of your meal, and it finds the food, the ingredients and the portions, then logs calories, protein, carbs and fat for you to check and save. Your food log stays on your phone, and photo logging is free forever when you bring your own AI key. Coming soon to iPhone and Android.

How it works, in three steps
Lettuceburn is an app that counts calories from a picture, but it never asks you to take its word for it. Every scan ends with you in charge.
1. Snap your meal
Take up to three photos of the same plate from different angles. If something is hard to see, add a short hint, like "fried in butter" or "oat milk, not dairy."
2. Check what the AI found
The AI lists each ingredient with an estimated portion in grams and the nutrition for each one. Your meal’s totals are added up from those ingredients, so the list and the total always agree. If something is wrong, change a portion, remove an item, or tap Fix Results and say what’s off in plain words.
3. Save it
The meal lands in today’s log with its calories, protein, carbs and fat. That’s it. The whole flow is laid out step by step on the how Lettuceburn works page.

More than a photo calorie counter
The photo calorie counter is the headline, but it’s one way in of many. Pick whichever is fastest for the food in front of you.
Photo scan
Up to three photos per meal plus an optional text hint. The AI estimates each ingredient and its portion.
Nutrition label scan
Point the camera at a Nutrition Facts panel. Lettuceburn reads the per-serving column and logs one serving.
Free barcode scanner
Scan a packaged food and pull its nutrition from the Open Food Facts database. No subscription needed.
Describe it or say it
Type "two eggs and toast" or say it out loud. Voice logging and voice commands are built in.
A plan that adapts
Answer a short quiz for a starting calorie and macro plan. Adaptive targets adjust it from your real weight trend.
Health sync and widgets
Sync with Apple Health or Health Connect, and keep calories and protein on your home screen with a widget.
There’s a lot more: food search, recipes, water, an exercise library, fasting, weekly insights. See every Lettuceburn feature.
An honest AI calorie tracker, on purpose
Lettuceburn was built around three promises.
A free lane, forever
Bring your own AI key and every feature is free. You pay the AI provider directly, after a small prepaid top-up with them, and a photo scan costs a few cents with Claude, or a fraction of a cent with cheaper models. Nothing is held back from the free lane.
Local-first
Your food log, meal photos, weight and nutrition data live on your phone. You don’t need to sign up to use Lettuceburn, and your food log never reaches us.
Nothing rewards eating less
Streaks count the days you log, not how little you ate. Achievements reward balanced days and enough protein. A week under your target is reported as a fact, never as a win. And the share card never shows a calorie or weight number.

Pricing, in one breath
There are two ways to power the AI, and the app is the same either way.
- Free: add your own Anthropic (Claude) or OpenRouter key. Free forever, every feature included.
- Pro: no key needed; your scans run through Lettuceburn’s server. It’s a monthly subscription after a 1-week free trial, with the price shown in the App Store or Google Play — or bring your own key, free forever.
Manual logging, search, barcode, health sync and everything else work the same in both. Compare them side by side on the Lettuceburn pricing page.
